Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you share anything.

What Mommy Talk is, how a session works and what is still in test mode—without fine print or inflated promises.

What is Mommy Talk?

Mommy Talk is a place for moms to vent with a real human listener. You can use a private text conversation to say what is on your mind without having to make it tidy or productive. It is peer listening, not therapy.

What can I talk about?

The everyday things you are carrying: a rough morning, invisible planning, feeling touched out, a relationship, loneliness, joy, anger or something you cannot quite name yet. You do not need a crisis or a clear reason to want company.

Are listeners licensed professionals?

We are not licensed professionals. Listeners are approved people who complete Mommy Talk’s required internal training. That training is not a professional license or clinical certification. Mommy Talk does not provide diagnosis, therapy, medical care or emergency support.

Can I use text, phone or video?

Private text chat is available. Phone and video are coming soon. We do not claim those calling formats work while their providers are unconnected, and a phone or video booking cannot currently be made.

How much does it cost?

The rate is $1.99 per minute: 10 minutes is $19.90, 20 minutes is $39.80 and 30 minutes is $59.70. Optional extensions use the same per-minute rate and never happen automatically.

Are real payments working?

Not yet. Bookings and receipts are in clearly marked test mode because no payment provider is connected. No real card is charged. This page will not pretend a test receipt is a real payment.

How does connected time work?

Time is tracked on the server only while both participants are present and the disclaimer has been acknowledged. The disclaimer is not billed. Your session stops at the purchased allowance unless you deliberately extend it.

Will a listener be available instantly?

No instant match is promised. You can request the next available listener or choose a posted time when one exists. An approved, trained listener must accept your request, and availability is not guaranteed.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Create an account with your email and your own password, confirm the email, then sign in to request a session and view your history. Staff use a separate sign-in and cannot make themselves owner or approve their own account.

Can I install Mommy Talk on my phone?

Yes. Supported Android browsers may offer installation, and iPhone or iPad users can choose Add to Home Screen in Safari. Installation adds a convenient icon and full-screen view; internet is still required, and private conversations are not cached for offline use.

Who can read my messages?

Private text messages are visible to the session participants. They are not recorded by default. Administrative information such as bookings, connected time, receipts and payout records can be visible to the company owner for operating the service. This is a description of current access controls, not a promise of absolute confidentiality.

What if I need urgent or professional help?

Mommy Talk is not emergency or professional care. The footer keeps emergency and crisis resources visible, including 911 for emergencies, 988 for crisis support in the U.S., and the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262.
